Savannah Holidays

Savannah Holidays are a special time of year in Savannah. The city takes on an almost magical glow. Many special “once-a-year” activities take place between Thanksgiving and New Year’s.

Thanksgiving In Savannah, GA

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of year to visit Savannah. Especially if you book one of our cozy bed and breakfast rooms with a fireplace. Most of the restaurants near our bed and breakfast remain open. They serve  either a traditional Thanksgiving feast (with a Southern flair, of course) or their regular menus. Our bed and breakfast is located in the heart of downtown Savannah.  Consequently you can get an early start on your Christmas shopping, by visiting the nearby shops, boutiques, and galleries.

On Saturday after Thanksgiving the annual Savannah Harbor Boat Parade of Lights takes place. Festivities include more than 60 yachts and sailboats all decked out with holiday lights.  Most noteworthy there is a fireworks display. There are many things to do in Savannah.

Christmas In Savannah, GA

savannah holidaysSavannah lights up during the Savannah holidays Christmas season. Holiday activities are spread throughout the month of December. Correspondingly many of the commercial Savannah tours take on a Christmas flair.  Likewise there is a riverboat tour with Santa and holiday-themed trolley tours. Not to mention there is public ice skating offered at the Savannah Civic Center.  Moreover it is a short walk from our bed and breakfast. Similarly there are tree lighting ceremonies, caroling, and a lighted bike tour.  All are highlights of Savannah’s holiday season.

New Year’s In Savannah, GA

Make an early New Year’s resolution to come and see Savannah Holidays to celebrate the end of the year! As in years past, there will be a fireworks show at Tybee Island (which is a 30-minute drive from our bed and breakfast). Downtown Savannah will also be aglow, with a fireworks display originating at River Street at midnight. If you’d prefer a more intimate celebration, some of Savannah’s best restaurants are within walking distance of our bed and breakfast.
